National Diving and Activity Centre

First dive of the year. A reasonable turnout, with a few apprehensive faces. Water temp was 5/7deg so good practice for coldwater diving! We did two dives and no one complained they were cold! One of us was in a semi-dry. Steve was acting as dive leader today working towards his qualification. We couldn't fault his organisation of the dive, well done Steve. Everyone enjoyed the day and as usual we finished off in a local pub with a pint and nibbles.

Porth Clais - West Wales

Cold but sunny day with quite high winds. Most sites were blown out , but Porth Clais was in the lee so off we went. Vis was poor at 2m max and there wasn't much depth, 8.5m max. 100's and 100's of crabs to be seen along with some other marine life, star fish, urchins hermit crabs etc. It was Owens elementary diver qualification dive which went really well. Off to St Davids afterwards for a pint then home. Another great day out.

Aber Eiddu - West Wales. The Blue Lagoon

A fun day out in West Wales, but the diving was not the best of the year with vis at about 50cm! enough said.

Liveaboard trip - West Wales

Weekend away aboard Lo Entropy a 70ft sailing yacht. Dived Church Rock and Worms Head both of which were top class, (visited by a friendly seal at Worms Head). The boat itself has comfortable accomodation and a very friendly crew making for an excellent trip. Our only comment for the skipper Geoff is 'please get a more diver friendly ladder system'. We all want another trip.

Qualifying Dives - West Wales

Weekend staying at South Cockett Farm Broadhaven. Dived at St Brides sat & Martins Haven on sun The vis this weekend was as good as you get at 12m+ and both dive sites teemed with life. Well done to Saz who worked through her qualification dives easily.

Lundy Island

A last minute hitch meant the Lundy Island trip was cancelled (boat engine seized). Luckily the club RIB 'Morfach' was to be sea trialled this weekend, so we used her on sun to dive the Dakotian, 4m+ vis' which is good for the Haven, lots of marine life making for a very pleasant dive. Then over to Thorn Island to find the Loch Sheil. No luck on this one which ended up as a dive on kelp with good vis but absolutely no life. Another excellent weekend.

National Diving & Activity Centre

A midweek dip at the NDAC. We were the only divers there (turned up at 2:30pm). Dropped down to the dive bell then over to the shelf and platforms. We were disappointed with the vis at 2-4m max, even at 25m it wasn't any good. Overall we all enjoyed our selves, got a pint or two then home. Another good day.

West Wales

Elementary Diver qualification dives. Staying at South Cockett Farm. Two days of generally glorious weather, and vis in excess of 10m. Plenty to see in the water. Our four novices all passed their assessments with flying colours and really enjoyed their weekends diving.
