Dive Master

Introduction

A Dive Master is a diver who has through nationally conducted examinations proved to have gained an higher than average level of knowledge and ability. Proven ability to organise divers to achieve major tasks and projects underwater.

Requirements

To qualify as a Dive Master the candidate must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Current SAA membership.
  2. Hold a Dive Supervisor certificate.
  3. Hold a Diver Rescue certificate.
  4. Qualified Boathandler with VHF Marine Radio.
  5. Hold a current U.K. Sports Diver Medical Certificate.
  6. Minimum of five years diving experience.
  7. Logged at least 100 dives in varying conditions and locations (in addition to those required for Open Water, Club, Dive Leader and Dive Supervisor qualifications).
  8. A proportion of the dives should show experience of depths greater than 30 metres.
  9. Pass a written examination and practical diving test set nationally
