Dosthill (The Quarry Pool)

Description: On first appearances, Dosthill is a little disappointing. Beyond the car park the lack of facilities soon becomes obvious. There are no proper changing rooms, only a small touring caravan. There are no showers, and for toilets two chemical Portaloos which are in the usual condition (if you know what I mean). The small shop is also the reception, though this changes to being met at the gate on a regular basis. Tucked away at the back of the site is a burger van. After all this has been said, the centre is small and friendly and even in the worst of weather we have had a good time there.

Diving: Something for most divers when you can't get to the sea. Various underwater 'attractions' are available, all of which have seen some heavy duty. The lake is home to perch, roach and some very impressive pike. In addition you may catch site of crayfish, goldfish, koi carp and eels. Vis' can vary greatly due to weather conditions and the number of novices using the lake on the day.

Pros: Cons:
Can be dived all year round. Excellent for training. Parking and humping your gear.
It would be nice to have at least a tap next to the loo's as there used to be.
